Welcome: Please read the contest rules.
Rules for all contests:
Any student on the staff of an NSPA member publication is eligible to enter these contests. There is no entry fee. Per-category (but not per-person) limits apply to each contest; for example, in the case of a two-entry-per-category limit, a publication may enter two entries by the same student or one entry each from two different students.
The entry must have been published in an NSPA member publication, in print or online, between Aug. 1, 2011 and June 1, 2012. The publication’s NSPA membership must be current as of June 15, 2012, the contest deadline, to be accepted into any contest. If your membership is not current, you can download a membership form here. To check membership status, visit http://nspa.studentpress.org/membership.html. Non-members will be billed for membership.
Entries will be judged by working professional journalists or other professionals with experience and expertise in the area of each particular contest.
Winners will be honored at the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention in San Antonio, Nov. 15-18, 2012. Winners will be notified by mail or email about one month prior to the start of the convention. Those unable to attend will receive their award in the mail. NSPA also recognizes winners in its publications and on its website. NSPA reserves the right to publish the entrants’ work in its print and online publications.
